Brutally Cold Temperatures Bear Down on Many Cities in Oregon! (credit: NWS Pendleton, Oregon)1/4/2017 DISCUSSION: As of earlier this morning, many people across many parts of Oregon woke up to brutally cold temperatures with dangerously cold windchills to boot. As seen in the detailed graphic above courtesy of forecasters over at the National Weather Service office located in Pendleton, Oregon. Note how many windchill values earlier this morning were at or below the -5°F threshold; indicating that the threshold time for experiencing frostbite (if sensitive parts of the body are left exposed) could be as little as 20 to 30 minutes or less. Therefore, be sure to leave the house dressed in well-insulated layers of clothing so as to mitigate the likelihood of there being any danger to your body.
