DISCUSSION: Has the recent news of the GOES-R satellite launch re-captivated your interest in weather as of the recent successful launch of this highly-advanced weather and environmentally-ground breaking satellite? Be sure to tune in to a short but neat discussion between NBC/CBS Erie, PA Chief Meteorologist Geoff Cornish and Meteorologist Jordan Rabinowitz (CEO of the Global Weather and Climate Center) live at 8:00 PM CST/9:00 EST tonight! DISCUSSION: As of earlier this evening, weather history was made by way of the GOES-R satellite imager being successfully launched into space. As a result of its now successful deployment into space, many people across the contiguous United States can begin to look forward to forthcoming data within the next couple of weeks. Though this could take a little less or a little more time than these couple of weeks, the upcoming datasets will be absolutely unprecedented to anything we have seen thus far up to this point in the history of atmospheric research/forecasting. Be sure to watch the above live feed segments from earlier this evening at the time of as well as well after the time of the launch of GOES-R.
