DISCUSSION: As a strengthening low-pressure system continued to slowly move through parts of Eastern Australia over the past few days, there was a consequence in the form of heavy/persistent rainfall across parts of Eastern Queensland and Eastern New South Wales. Despite the fact that this is considered to be the Southern Hemisphere's Winter-time season, both heavy rainfall and accumulating snowfall events in the higher elevations of Queensland and New South Wales are often a common occurrence. Moreover, it is worth mentioning that several accumulating snowfall events have already been verified across the some of the higher elevations across parts of Eastern Australia. Attached below is an image of some of the major flooding that has unfolded in light of the aforementioned heavy rainfall persisting for quite some time; especially across parts of Eastern New South Wales.
