DISCUSSION: As clear to partly cloudy skies predominated during the early to mid-afternoon hours today in and around Caracas, Venezuela, the combination of assorted ice particles at the right angles higher up in the atmosphere and the proper reflection and refraction of sunlight off of these ice particles helps to create what was observed as a 22° halo!
