Weather Bill Hot off the Press Inspires Scientists Around the World! (credit: CIMSS via Congress.gov)
DISCUSSION: As of this past Tuesday, the Weather Research and Forecasting Innovation Act of 2017 was signed into law! Hence, this marks the dawn of another exciting era for meteorological research. Many of the detail embedded within this law include an increased ability for various organizations within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to have improved funding for improving the forecasts for tropical cyclones, tornadoes, and other forms of higher-impact weather. This is a bright point for both the near- and long-term future of atmospheric research since it will hopefully help to reveal a better understanding of various genres of higher-impact weather which should help to provide an improved warning for various atmospheric phenomena.
