Re. windy U.S.A. - overall, the U.K. has enjoyed a largely storm free winter this season. Other than the usual windy conditions in north west Scotland ( Atlantic depressions close by ) much dry and calm conditions have been enjoyed, due to proximity of continental high pressure. Somewhat colder than usual but very little snowfall. There is concern here in the South East that reservoirs are very low. Ideally, we would like to see some 10 inches of precipitation from now until end of April. Very unlikely unless pressure patterns change significantly.
