DISCUSSION: As Christmas Eve slowly comes to a close all the way from New York to Los Angeles and everywhere in between, there is quite an interesting national weather scenario coming into play over the next 24 to 48 hours. As the night and overnight period rolls on, the weak low pressure system which is currently positioned across the southwestern United States will be moving towards the north-central United States and strengthening at its core as it does so. As a result of this intensification, many parts of North/South Dakota, northwestern Nebraska, northern Wisconsin, northern Minnesota, etc. will be in the path of intense winter storm conditions (and likely even blizzard conditions in some spots).
