DISCUSSION: As we look all the way back to February 15th, 1940, we are brought back to a truly historic snowstorm. Back on February 15th, 1940 a snowstorm impacted many parts of southern New England with a widespread 10 to 18 inches falling across many parts of Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and some other nearby areas. During the course of this winter storm, there were also incredibly strong northeasterly winds reported which created snow drifts as high as 10 feet in some places.
