DISCUSSION: Smoke from wildfires in Washington can be seen in this time lapse taken at Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park. Conditions in the region remain favorable for existing fires to spread and for new fires to start. Record high temperatures; abnormally dry ground and gusty wind conditions are in place throughout the weekend, which increases the risk for any development. With such conditions in place, Red Flag Warnings persist over much of the region. Along with the Red Flag Warning there is also a fire weather watch issued for Spokane and Southern Washington along with parts of Idaho this weekend.
