CLASSIC MAMMATUS CLOUDS OBSERVED OVER NORTH-CENTRAL ITALY! (credit: Andrea Raggini via Rete Meteo Amatori via Meteo Europe)
DISCUSSION: As strong storms rolled through parts of Northern to Central Italy earlier this afternoon (local time) and ended up generating impressive mammatus clouds over many regions in the vicinity of Bologna, Italy! As seen in this truly "textbook" image captured by Andrea Raggini earlie today, you can clearly denote the quite evident mammatus clouds positioned towards the right-side of the image (i.e., denoted by the "bubble-like" descending cloud features with somewhat clearer patches of sky wedged in between them).
