DISCUSSION: Here is a great post courtesy of Severe Weather Greece which depicts gorgeous lenticular clouds over the island of Crete. Lenticular clouds often form as a result of laminar flow aloft in the atmosphere which flows over higher terrain; inducing localized condensation of moisture over the higher terrain which forms the lenticular clouds!  Beautiful shots to say the least!
