DISCUSSION: In the wake of a strong cold front recently passing through Southern Australia, an enhanced pressure gradient has helped to amplify the onshore flow in the wake of the associated cold front's passage. As discussed in the post below, as this enhanced pressure gradient begins to back off the associated winds will be in the back off and the associated wave action will begin to weaken with time as well. Nonetheless, some very impressive wave action for spectators and surfers along parts of Southern Victoria! DISCUSSION: Over the next few days, an increasignly more challenging weather forecast will develop for parts of Eastern and Southern Australia as a strengthening low-pressure system develops and deepens prior to moving onshore. As it does so the areas projected to experience heavy rainfall (along with decent severe weather potential and even possibly some accumulating snowfall across higher terrain) coupled by strong gusty winds and strong swells along the south-facing coastlines!
